With over 30 million children eating school lunches in the United States each school day, it is interesting to note that over half of their calories each day are consumed while they are at school. With issues of childhood obesity growing, a chain of Salad restaurants called Sweetgreen has begun running a program to help get kids educated on eating healthy foods, exercising, and sustainable practices.
Sweetgreen took a look at the way school lunches look around the world and wanted other people to see how these lunches compare to what American kids are eating. You’ll probably be shocked and a little appalled at how they measure up!
