Obscure Photos from the Past—You’ve Never Seen These Before!

In this new age of digital photography, it is easy to capture almost any image for future use. And almost anyone has access to a camera—mostly on their phones. But in the age when some of these photos were taken, some as early as the late 1800s, it was much more of a difficult process to take and develop photographs! Even in the 1960s and 1970s when some of the photos were shot, cameras used 35mm film and photographers often did the development themselves. Taking photographs was rather expensive and difficult, cameras were often bulky, and film was very sensitive.

Even so, tons of photos exist to record many events which have never been seen before by the public.

Many of the photos captured here were taken to commemorate important events, as well as showing evidence of relationships between celebrities, political figures, movie stars, or sports icons who apparently knew each other. Other photos might depict silly celebrity mug shots or even celebrity men dressed up as women. Some are spooky, some are creepy, and others are just downright surprising! No matter how you feel about them, you don’t want to miss these interesting and bizarre pieces of historical activity caught on film.
