taytayCalvin Harris took to Twitter to confirm that Taylor Swift wrote the hit “This Is What You Came For” before slamming her in a series of tweets.

The 32-year-old DJ responded to reports that his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift wrote the song with Rihanna under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg. He began by praising Swift for her work by tweeting, “Amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual. I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals though. And initially she wanted to keep it a secret, hence the pseudonym.”

He quickly began criticizing Taylor and her team for the way in which the news was broken.

“Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make me look bad at this stage though.”

Harris moved on to targeting Swift directly and alluded to her relationship with Tom Hiddleston by saying she should focus on her new relationship “instead of trying to tear your ex boyfriend down for something to do.”

After making a reference to Swift’s infamous alleged feud with fellow pop star Katy Perry, Harris wrapped up the rant by encouraging Swift to focus on the “positive aspects” of her life.

Swift and Harris dated for almost a year before the pair split up in early June, shortly before Swift and Hiddleston went public and became a tabloid favorite.

The news of Swift’s relationship with Hiddleston hit on June 15 and rumors have swirled around the pair ever since. Some rumors suggest the Hiddleswift romance is merely a stunt to mess with the media or that the relationship is fodder for one of Swift’s upcoming music videos.

The latest rumor surrounding the breakup of Swift and Harris is that their secret collaboration for the hit “This Is What You Came For” went badly and led to trouble in their relationship, an allegation brought by TMZ. Swift allegedly agreed to use a pseudonym for her role in the song to take focus off the pair’s relationship but everything may have gone south went Harris promoted the single and “disrespected” her.

On April 29, the day the song was released, Calvin was asked by Ryan Seacrest in an interview if he would collaborate with Taylor and he responded by saying, “You know, we haven’t even spoken about it. I can’t see it happen.”

Perry, for her part, responded to the Twitter rant in her own way with an appropriate subtweet gif reaction.
